I'm a Lady!!!!

Almost getting kicked out of the Ladies restroom.......

This was one of the weirdest experiences that i have had! It happened to me back in seventh grade, but i find it hilarious to this day!

I used to have really short hair when i was in seventh grade. I found out that it was called "boy cut" for a reason! I knew i looked pretty boyish with that hairstyle, but i never realised how much entertainment it was going to provide!!!

I had gone out on a vacation with my parents. After a long morning of roaming around the town we were in, we decided that we were tired and needed a good lunch. So we found a good restaurant and found ourselves some comfortable seats. While waiting for the food we had ordered to arrive, my mom and I decided that we wanted to freshen up a bit. We made our way to the ladies' restroom. It was occupied at that moment, and there was another lady waiting there by the door. So we just stood there waiting for our turn "to powder our noses!!!"

The funny part started here. The other lady who was waiting by the door stared at me for what seemed like eternity! She looked as though she wanted to say something, but was debating whether or not to say it. Finally she decided that she should speak her mind out. She mustered up some courage, looked directly at me and said.....

"Excuse me, this is the Ladies Restroom, the restroom for men is on the other side"

I was taken aback! I knew that i had pretty short hair, that i was wearing jeans bought from the boy's section and a regular T-shirt. But it never occured to me that i actually looked like a boy! It took a while for me to realise what this lady was saying and why she was saying that to me!
I was barely able to conceal my smile as i replied...

"Don't worry.... I'm a Lady!!!!"

The lady, as soon as she heard these words from me looked shocked for a split second, then I thought she looked mildly embarassed. She stood there by the door again, then after a few seconds, she just walked away! I guess i thought wrong... she was not mildly embarassed!! She was extremely embarassed!!

My mom, who watched the entire episode from the sidelines, found this entire episode quite amusing! When we recounted the tale to my dad (who had missed all the fun), he found it hilarious!

This was only the first of several such similar incidents that took place in my life during the time i had that hairstyle! There have been attempts of people trying to kick me out of ladies restrooms and sales persons taking me to the boy's section without giving it a second thought... But since this particular incident was the first ever to happen to me... i find it the most hilarious! I still can't get over it!

But then again... i guess not many people can easily get over being mistaken for the other gender, can they? ;)

Just buying a skirt for machogirl will not do. One has to make her wear one. Believe me I have bought many for last 17years and finally gave them away to someone. Only girl's dress she wore was uniform, that too reluctantly when her teacher told her that she can not wear pant shirt to school when she was in kindergarten!! She did not want to go to school because she had to wear a girl's dress!! Probably you could have a bet with her that she is sure to lose and then make her wear a skirt.

U have been mistaken for a boy for years now...and when I tell u that u looklike Sounblaster u simply don't agree!!!So I was right all along...and then u say " I don't see any resemblance!" and we go like "That's bcoz u can't see urself right now!!!" Haha..however u try to defend urself,to try to prove to me that u don't look like Soundblaster,I willnot agree !!!Coz u really do!!And if u still say u dont, u need either a new mirror,a new pair of spectacles or lenses or just a new haircut !! Haha...
